Freedom with responsibility
The Right of Public Access is a unique opportunity for everyone to move freely in Swedish nature – to hike, cycle, swim, and pick berries, as long as you show respect and do not disturb or destroy.
If you are visiting Valle Camping or exploring the beautiful nature around us, it is important to understand what the Right of Public Access means – and what rules apply.
What are you allowed to do under the Right of Public Access?
- What are you allowed to do under the Right of Public Access?
- Pick wild berries, mushrooms, and flowers (as long as they’re not protected). Other rules may apply in nature reserves.
- Take a dip and go ashore along beaches – as long as you stay away from private properties. If you’re not staying at the campsite, you may only go for a swim when passing by on foot or by bike, since there is no public parking and motor vehicles are not allowed unless you are a guest or have permission from the landowner. See further below for rules on traffic and parking.

- Walk with your dog, as long as it is under control (leash required from March 1 to August 20 due to wildlife).
What are you not allowed to do?
- Motor traffic and parking are not part of the Right of Public Access. It is therefore not permitted to drive or park a motor vehicle on private land without the landowner’s permission. You have no right to drive or park on meadows, forest land, private roads, or areas not intended for public traffic. All parking on private land requires permission from the landowner.
- Do not enter private property close to someone’s house (known as the “privacy zone”). At Valle Camping, the reception is located in a private residence surrounded by such a zone.
- Within the privacy zone, you are not allowed to walk, cycle, ride, camp or otherwise stay unless invited. The rule of thumb is to stay out of sight and hearing distance from the house and never enter gardens, driveways or courtyards without permission.
- Fishing is not part of the Right of Public Access. You are not allowed to fish in lakes without a fishing permit (e.g., Husgärdessjön requires special permission). Such limited permission may be granted by the reception to guests staying at the campsite. This only applies to fishing from land or the fishing jetty – not from a boat. Please check with reception.
- Do not take branches, twigs or fell trees.
- Do not litter, disturb animals or damage nature.
- Do not camp or make a fire in nature reserves without permission.
- Show consideration – for people, animals and nature
Show consideration – for people, animals and nature
This means you:
- Clean up after yourself
- Clean up after yourself
- Take responsibility for any fire you make
- Keep your distance from both domestic and wild animals
- Show extra care in nature reserves and sensitive areas
Protecting the Right of Public Access means taking shared responsibility for nature – so that more people can enjoy it.
